All Settled In

The last blog was almost a month ago! In the meantime we've had moments of frustration, blood, sweat and tears in moving from apartment 2EB to 6AC. Then there was that few days of things piled one on top of another. How does one re-create a physical environment that feels lived in? Where do we put the bowls? Where will we keep the first aid kit? Do we want the bed facing this way or that way? What color do we want the curtains to be? Add in a couple days of painting accent walls in two bedrooms (lime green for Irini's room and a blue-grey for the parents' room) and a day of help in putting up shelves in the store room and artwork around the walls and you have a semblance of a home! Irini now happily runs from one end of the apartment to the other, sprinting around hallways corners and across the living room floor. Her little play area has been set up in the living room. Her bedroom has been spruced up and looking friendly and colorful. The rules have been re-established (e.g. no climbing on tables, play with water only on the balcony) and life has transposed itself into our new space, taking some of the old with us, and molding our life into the new. Natalia loves it. Irini loves it. Laurence finds it too big and misses the bathtub. Life begins anew.

Now settled in, all we have to do is wait for our newest family member... 12 days (or so) and counting!
