Our Two Turtles

When Irini turned three we received three small turtles in a small plastic "home" from our friend Paz.  At the time they were about one inch in diameter and fit nicely into that small little tub of a home they had. One of them died shortly thereafter. But over the past couple years the two that remain have grown and grown, making their presence on our balcony an ever trickier affair. Their last home (plastic box for small animals) was obviously getting too tight and they were in need of a larger place. So with that, the four of us went across town to a place that had outdoor "stuff" from water features to plants, and chose a new "pond" for our two turtles, allowing them some space to stretch and relax. We're not convinced this is their last home either, but it should be good for a while anyway. They seem happy, and have room to dive and surface without running into a see-through wall after one stoke of their forelegs. Our girls are happy too, going out there to spend time with the turtles on a daily basis.  Do turtles keep growing if their environment grows like some fish do?
