A letter to Abuelita Celita, written for her upon her death on the eve of 2016.
Abuelita Celita,
May the brightness of your moment open the door to your
path, and in so doing lead you to where love awaits you on the other side. May
your goodbye on this end be a hello to other spaces. May it bring to you
reunifications, transformations and what you want it to be. We hope it brings
you the peace that the past few months had taken away but that it travels in
love eternal uniting the dimensions of love and time. I hope you know how much
you’ve touched us all and how wonderful it has been to receive your blessings
in so many ways, to watch you hold a family together through humility, support
and love. We am so very happy to know that our daughters – your great grand
daughters - could meet and know you and that, through the family you leave
behind your legacy too will be continued. Let your time come in
peace, without regret and with nothing but an existence of everything that makes
life (and beyond) worth while. We love you.
