Well, it was the middle of the COVID-19 quarantine when Amalia turned 10, with people not allowed in each other's houses, but still we worked it out to use our back garden to celebrate (for just a few minutes) our little girl saying goodbye to the single digit years! We are now "all in" with the double digits and who knows where it will take us.
But on this day, on her day, Amalia was happy with the special little things that she got. The customary wake up and presents, the numbered pancake and a few special games (albeit with just the four of us). As she grows so does her wanting to make a big deal of her special day. She was absolutely content with having just a little get together and spend time with the rest of us. It was perfect, really, because she has done such a great job of being creative and happy to painting, drawing, re-designing clothing, doing tie-dye, cooking... all sorts of creative outlets.
And that's not to mention the simple positive exuberance that she shows every day. It's not uncommon for her to walk into a room and start doing her dancing moves or does some sort of rendition of either a speech or a song. Our little one is growing into a pretty amazing girl, filled with the energy of positivity and a great independence and self-motivation. She is, as we all ask her to be, more beautiful inside as she is outside. What an awesome bundle of amazing we are fortunate enough to have in our family!
