When the party was over, mommy and daddy put all the stuff away at home and the girls soon said goodbye and went for their afternoon siesta. It was now time for the adults in the family to celebrate on their own. They snuck out with a small backpack and made their way across town to the Meridien Hotel. There they checked in and enjoyed an evening of relaxing alone time together. It was their tenth wedding anniversary. Time seems to just have flown by. Little did they know, way back in 2002 in Colombia that their stories would unfold in this way. In their mind they would have come and gone by now, moved on to other parts of the world. Instead, they have settled a bit more than originally anticipated, been given the gift of parenthood to two beautiful daughters inside and out, and discovered wrinkles around their eyes. They had wanted to grow old together and continue a journey into and because of love. And so it has been. Love knows no boundaries.
The relaxation included a siesta of their own in a wonderfully comfortable bed, a nice stroll by the pool and a fanciful Italian dinner (at La Favola meaning "The Fable"), a lie around, a yummy breakfast and a good poolside chat in the morning after breakfast. By the time they got into the car for the return they felt fresh and rejuvenated. The feeling of calm had reached their very core. It was all gone within 10 minutes of getting back home. The girls were happy to see them, and life goes on. The wrinkles get bigger. The smiles broader. The love stronger.
Happy 10 mommy and daddy. May the journey continue to be exciting and fulfilling. :-)

WOW! Time DID fly! I was looking at my pictures of our time in Bogota with Adriana a little younger than Andrew is right now. Good times... May there be many more!
Adriana was a complete and total cutie! She stole the show on the dance floor walking between and under everyone. :-)
